NURSING PROGRAMME
Nursing Section takes up and administers
Nursing Services both under Directorate of Health Services and
Directorate of Hospital & Medical Education, including at
Hospitals, Community Health Centres as well as Nursing
Education. Post creation, appointment, transfer, posting and
in-service Training of nursing personnel is also carried out
with this section, and also responsible for conduct of
in-service Training outside Mizoram.
1. Training of Nurses was conducted under
assistance from Government of India. The following
Subject/Topics were taught:
(i) Management Technique
(ii) Role of Nurses in Emergency
(iii) Human Relations in Nursing
(iv) Computer in Nursing
Achievement for the year 2010-2011
1)
32 nos. of Nursing Students passed out B.Sc. (N) Course
in First Division from Mizoram College of Nursing in the year
2010. Some of these Graduates are now working in foreign
countries and different parts of India.

21 nos. of Nursing Students passed out GNM from Lunglei
Nursing College in September, 2010
3)
61 nos. of Health Worker Students passed out from Health
Worker Training School, Kulikawn in September, 2010 and January,
2011

Govt. of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare
(Nursing Section) sanctioned Rs. 3,70,50,000/- (Rupees Three
crores seventy lakhs fifty thousand) only for upgrading of
School of Nursing, Civil Hospital, Aizawl into Mizoram College
of Nursing. Mizoram College of Nursing is under construction at
Falkawn.

4 (four) GNM Nursing Schools are to be started at Saiha,
Champhai, Serchhip and Kolasib and 1 (one) ANM Training School
at Lawngtlai with Government of India aid.
