Achievement during 2008-2009 in respect of Planning Cell
under Health Services Department

Outlay for Health Services:
The approved outlay for Annual Plan during 2008-2009 was Rs. 2900.00 lakhs but due to surrender of 2% set aside for Natural Calamities, the total outlay was reduced to Rs. 2,849.00 lakhs. As nearly as 60% of the total outlay has to be spent for salary component and Rs. 350.00 lakhs was spent for matching share of National Rural Health Mission, 3 (Three) PHC viz., Lengpui, Khawzawl and Thingsulthliah was upgraded to Lengpui CHC and Longpuighat, Phullen and Kanhmun were also upgraded to PHC.

Renovation / Repair of Sub-Centres, PHC/CHC and Staff Quarters were taken up and the following development works were taken up under Plan and Family Welfare fund during 2008-2009.

B. Due to shortage of budget, the Department could not provide minimal requirements to 12 CHCs, 57 PHCs an 366 Sub-Centres. The Department faced acute crisis in maintenance of health care deliveries, but procurement of essential equipments, medicines and diet charges which are urgent needs for use in rural health institution was functioned with difficulty
