AYUSH PROGRAMME
1. Objectives of the programme::
To promote Indian Systems of Medicines and Homeopathy, namely, Aryurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Sidhha and Homeopathy to the people as an alternative health care, as well as mainstreaming these systems of medicine in the health care system of the nation.
Setting up of AYUSH Wing in District Allopathic Hospitals (Outdoor facilities of one or two systems of (AYUSH) and Drug Testing Laboratory (AYUSH) for testing of medicinal plants for which Mizoram is having rich resources.
Achivement during 2010-2011
1)
Awareness for AYUSH through Sponsorship of LPS
Pro Fight for the second time on 12th October
– 3rd December, 2010 at Chawnpui Indoor
Stadium.
2)
Programme for District level orientation Training
of Homoeopathy for Mother and Child Care was
successfully organized on 18th January 2011
at Lunglei Civil Hospital Auditorium.
3)
District level Training of Homoeopathy was
successfully held on 19th January, 2011 at
Lunglei Civil Hospital Auditorium.
4)
The Proposal for Construction of Integrated AYUSH
50 Bedded Hospital is approved by the Central
Government.
5)
A vast area of land at Thenzawl is voluntarily
donated for the establishment of Integrated AYUSH
Hospital.
* 10 Medical Officers (AYUSH)
recruited on Contractual Basis may be regularized on the
decision of Cabinet Meeting on 19.8.2011
Achivement during 2009-2010
Construction of AYUSH
Hospital (10 bedded) in all District Hospitals is
completed. Besides this, Out
Patients Department Building has also been constructed
within the Civil Hospital compound at Aizawl adjacent to
the OPD of Civil Hospital.The work is still going on and
it is in progress. The ground floor is now being
occupied for OPD of AYUSH. -

Several
Awareness activities for the propagation of AYUSH Health
Care has been made through sponsorship of NGOs of which
AYUSH LPS Pro-fight Boxing Tournament during 12th
October – 3rd December, 2010 was the most
successful event..
2.
Construction of AYUSH 10 Bedded Ward
Hospital at each District was completed.
3.
Several market samples and crude
medicinal plant drugs have been tested and Scientific
Staffs have also been given training.
4.
With the fund received from Government of
India, Department of AYUSH, Medicines for AYUSH OPD’s
are distributed free of cost to all the patients.
